More than climbing

Dancing

With Antoine le Menestrel

Antoine le Menestrel is one of the key figures in the development of free climbing, notably establishing the first 8-grade routes in France in the 1980s. Beyond performance, climbing is for Antoine a laboratory of movement . He explores and developed iconic the climbing moves, such as the ‘croisé de la rose’.

Turning his climbing experience into artictic performance, Antoine proposes today live shows with his company “Les Lézards Bleus”. Mixing facade climbing, vertical shows, and poetry.

Together with Faya, we removed the dust from prototypes Antoine made 30 years ago, designed for dance-climbing. Holds made especially to explore movement. From this initial idea, we co-created a brand new wooden dance-climbing hold : La prise d’Élan.

La prise d’Élan

This original wooden climbing allows to reinvent our way of taking holds. It’s not only about fingers and toes anymore : it’s about your whole body. Wrist, knee, elbow, butt. An new way to move on the wall.

A 21 holds grid

Disposed in 3 columns of 7 holds, this wall composition is perfectly adapted to learn and explore movement, fluidity, and spectacle.
